Music Ministry

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish is accepting applications for a part-time Coordinator of Music to manage liturgical music for the parish and encourage parishioner participation in the liturgy. The successful applicant will: Conduct regular rehearsals with existing choirs, cantors and accompanists; Select and coordinate Mass music (Saturday 4:30, Sunday 7am and 9am), including accompanying Masses occasionally. Oversee the administrative needs of music ministry by submitting annual budget needs to finance committee, maintaining music library, acquiring copyright licensing for new music, etc. Collaborate with Worship Commis- sion and parish staff on special events (e.g. funerals, prayer services). Candidate should be knowledgeable of Ro- man Catholic liturgy and competent in piano and choral performance. Knowledge of organ and solo vocal perfor- mance is desirable. Candidates must respect and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church, be able to honor and maintain confidentiality, and fulfill the requirements of Safe Environment training protocol.

Saint Francis of Assisi Parish is seeking a full-time Bilingual Administrative Assistant and Hispanic Volunteer Ministry Coordinator. This position is governed by the policies of the Parish, along with the policies of the Catholic Diocese of Evansville and the Diocesan Safe Environment Program.

Qualifications/Skills:  High School Education  Secretarial experience preferred but not required  Knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point)  Ability to multi-task and resolve problems in a timely manner  Positive attitude, energetic and self motivated  Ability to work with others in a collaborative manner  Exhibit behavior and lifestyle values compatible with the Christian teachings in general and Catholic beliefs in particular  Actively participating in Roman Catholic Worship and able to articulate that faith  Ability to work with a team of people collaboratively and able to supervise and give feedback to paid staff and volunteers  Ability to articulate the Pastor’s vision and motivate others to participate in realizing that vision  Willingness to work weekends and evenings when necessary Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  Work hours are Mon-Fri 8am-4pm CDT with some evenings & weekends.  Provides secretarial and clerical services for the Parish.  Provides receptionist services at any of our three parish offices.  Answer phones and record clear and accurate messages.  Assists with parish correspondence and mailings.  Greets and assists visitors during regular office hours and some weekends.  Welcomes and registers new parishioners with appropriate paperwork.  Handles routine questions from parishioners.  Attend weekly staff meeting.  Assist St Vincent De Paul in providing assistance to those in need (gas, food, lodging, or other needs) by providing the appropriate paperwork.  Creating funeral programs and assist with creating worships aids.  Communicates daily with the central office manager regarding problems, supplies, assistance, and assignments.  Prepares and sets up for small gatherings scheduled at the location.  Record Sacramental records.  Each day before leaving the facility, check doors, equipment, thermostats, restrooms, and make a final walk through before leaving.  Recruiting Hispanic volunteers for special events and Masses.  Comfortable calling parishioners and asking for their assistance in ministry. Need to be outgoing on the phone as well as in person.  Keep open correspondence with Hispanic volunteer ministers in the parish.  Compile and distribute the Parish Minister Mass schedule if no volunteer doing it.
